Research Groups & Research Areas

  • Electronic Devices

Electrons in a substance exhibit various characteristics when reacting to light, heat, or to an electric or magnetic field. On the other hand, it is also possible to take advantage of their characteristics to generate these energies. Substances created to exhibit such kinds of functional characteristics are called electronic devices.

Fujishiro Research Group / Ikuno Research Group / Tokiwa Research Group

  • ICT Systems

This area mainly includes signal processing, communications and human interfaces. Connecting people with machines or other people, these technologies are essential for enriching people’s lives in our modern society.

Aikawa Research Group / Itami Research Group / Ueki Research Group

  • Measurement Control Systems

Measurement and control include, for example, keeping the speed of a vehicle at a target value by measuring the speed using a tachometer or the like, comparing that speed with the target value, and manipulating the output of the engine by means of a controller (microcomputer) according to the difference.

Shiba Research Group / Taniguchi Research Group / Unno Research Group

  • Computer Systems

Nowadays, computers are used everywhere, and are now even in the process of being organically connected. Based on highly developed hardware and basic/applied software, computers support today’s information society as a system.
